The Creativity Works assist with the Viva Big Top Charity Ball
Posted on the 18th June 2009
Viva Arts and Community Group is an amazing organisation based in Soham, Cambridgeshire. Originally set up 12 years ago as a youth theatre, the intervening years have seen Viva grow into a major support group dedicated to the community and the development and education of young people through the arts and associated projects. It’s a fantastic organisation that does some wonderful work and we like to offer such a worthy cause whatever help we can.

We regularly support Viva through help with set build, set painting, display materials and printing so it was only natural that The Creativity Works team should volunteer to help with the Viva Big Top Charity Ball, their major fund raising event held at the Brooke House Hotel in Soham.
The circus theming called for lots of colourful lights, decorations and entertainment to create the right atmosphere along with fairground games, a local samba band to welcome the guests and fire performers and jugglers to wow the crowd as the sun went down.

We helped in advance putting together 50 goody bags filled to the brim with lots of fun circus related things. On the night, dressed in dinner suits and fine dresses (yes, we do ‘scrub up well’) we assisted with event management, the sale of raffle tickets, goody bags, the running of fairground attractions and aiding in the charity auction of some amazing prizes donated by local companies and patrons.
One of our event photographers was there to capture the essence of the evening and you can take a look at photos from the night, including one or two of us, by following this link: www.cambridgeshireeventphotography.com
The event was a huge success raising around £8000 for Viva, which now provides vital funding for the coming year.
Fun was had by all and it was a privilege for us to help out this wonderful cause!!
