The Creativity Works Support World Environment Day
Posted on the 4th June 2009
The Creativity Works are taking part in the Carbon Neutral Company's 'Cut a Kilo of CO2' campaign taking place on World Environment Day on Friday 5th June.
The programme invites people to reduce 1kg CO2 each during the day of World Environment Day and to log what they have achieved on to a micro site hosted by The Carbon Neutral Company

The benefits of taking part in this campaign include:
- Marks World Environment Day, 5th June
- Demonstrates corporate concern for CO2 emissions
- Reduces cost (energy) and CO2 emissions, and could provide the basis of a longer term company-wide program
- Requires little additional company resource
- Provides an opportunity to be part of a collective initiative
So this Friday and any time possible after we are going to be doing a number of things to reduce our C02 emissions, including the following (some of which we have been doing for many years!!):
- Make soup using ingredients from the office vegetable patch and buy bread from the local bakers
- Keep the tyre pressure on our cars at the correct level for any car journey to reduce fuel consumption
- Recycle all paper, cardboard, plastic, tin, glass and food
- Use rain water from the water butts to water the office vegetable patch
- Use mugs instead of paper or plastic cups
- Use energy saving light bulbs wherever possible
- We have also just invested in Eco Buttons to reduce the power consumption of our computers.
