Project Management for Henry Moore Foundation event

When The Foundation celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Henry Moore at their Hertfordshire headquarters with an open weekend for the public The Creativity Works were enlisted to aid the project management and staging for two days of events. The Foundation doesn’t open its doors to the public very often so this was a rare privilege!

What were the challenges? Firstly, we didn’t know how many people were likely to come along; that and the fact that difficult access and uncertain weather conditions meant exploring and planning for every scenario. In the end, over 10,000 people visited Henry Moore’s sculptures, paintings and other works of art, roaming the grounds and exploring the galleries.

Visitors were entertained with a specially commissioned outdoor play celebrating the life of Henry Moore. Children were occupied with all manner of fun and entertainment. Everyone was kept refreshed at the event with an ever present free supply of tea, coffee and food.

All in all, the AA events signage, car park management, tight but friendly security, power, sound, lighting, marquee installations, and bright, sunny weather meant that the event was a roaring success!
